I was once told by a psychiatrist friend that people with depression find it almost impossible to make decisions and that during recovery this is one of the first indicators to identifying that ghey are making positive progress. I myself found this to be true when suffering from mild depression and I believe that having so many choices these days in even very simple things such as "which breakfast cereal to buy" can lead to decision fatigue. As we as this, the consequences of and potential guilt surrounding "incorrect" choice can lead to a worry about being responsible for "everything" good or bad can be an issue.....which I have found as a single parent and the coin flipping idea can also reduce these negative thoughts.
An extremely helpful set of ideas for anyone needing to rebuild self confidence and reduce stress and anxiety....I believe the phrase is "don't sweat the small stuff"
