Thanks for that Mel...

There are those that feel the therapy room should interfere as little as possible with the treatment and therapy and others that believe it can be used accordingly.

Interesting indeed in your take, I expect photos of your room when it is up and running... :-)

I think in a way the rooms you work in are an extension of yourself and your take on hypnotherapy. When it's time for my own practice I'll definitely want it AWAY from my home, in a good business area without any "backstreet" feel; light and airy, neutral and professional, but not impersonal or sterile and absolutely not "magical" in any way.
Personally I wouldn't put up any family pictures, maybe some beautiful "non-threatening" landscapes. However, somebody with a water phobia might not enjoy the view of a lake or the sea.

That sounds marvellous Gareth, a real beauty! ;-)

There is much discussion in the hypnosis community about people working from home and those working out of offices and so on... I think with some professionalism and common sense you can make it effective.

Not a room I would like to have therapy in but still doesn’t sound as bad as a hypnotherapist room I read about a few months back. Glow in the dark stars and moons randomly placed on black painted walls, dream catches hanging from the ceiling , incense burning and lots of cushions, it all sounds very mystical, maybe a place for a sacrifice not therapy LOL..

Personally I like plants, a bit of greenery in the corner, clean, fresh, light coloured walls, and no clutter; that would put me in a calm relaxed mood. :)

I hope the hypnotherapist in the article took your advice.
