Yes! I can totally relate. As a fitness trainer I keep track of the highly misleading articles likely to give the wrong ideas to the general public. It’s a constant battle to keep the science of health and fitness from being buried under the BS.

At times it degrades to “Science By Media Headline” or “Science By Soundbite.” People will not even read the article fully to determine the truth of the headline let alone look for any references to research further.

Linda,
I just received my BS diploma in Psychology. To relate what I have learned with that to add to this discussion is the power of peer review to further the understanding of what is published. There is not much of that I have found in the field of hypnosis. I am greatly interested in some of the things you can relay to us on your findings related to hypnosis that enlightened you during your PhD research. I follow Adam's postings and appreciate them because of his grounded approach. I started my hypnosis and NLP studies in 2011 and still have much to learn. Thank you both for sharing, Ryan...

Thank you for taking the time to write and share that Linda, I really appreciate it.

I really look forward to seeing your training for dental professionals out there in the world, I am certain it'll be a fabulous and much needed addition to what is currently on offer.

My very best wishes to you, Adam.

What a great article Adam. I have an 'advanced' diploma and a BSc(hons) degree from what I once believed to be a reputable training establishment. If it wasn't for my PhD research in hypnosis I would not have found the Adam Eason training college- which changed my view and understanding of the field of hypnotherapy completely. All throughout my training, there was never any discussion about the theories and approaches, and never a reference to any evidence basis for what I was taught. The syllabus was the same regurgitated 'stuff' that had been used for years without any updates. Looking back now I am very disappointed that this was allowed to happen and that vast amounts of money were to be charged without any review of the substance of the courses. I believed that this still happens- that course are accredited too easily. Moving forward with what I have learned and understood from Adam's "Advanced Practitioner Diploma" and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy Diploma" I am planning a training programme for dental professionals for evidence based hypnosis as Eastman Dental Institute runs a CPD course that has no scientific based under pinning.
