Becoming a master is a lifelong journey that truly has no destination, only a direction. I think as an aspirant master of any field, you must stay on the path with single-minded determination you are moving in the right direction. I also believe that getting caught up in semantic is dangerous as the word is a process rather than a destination and no matter what field- professional sports, medicine or science researcher, you can alway better yourself.

In my humble opinion – all the more need for professional regulation . Professional regulation is a respected standard requiring knowledge and thorough training . If we are proud of the profession then why object to this as some do?
I had an interesting chat with Fiona Roberts of Robert Gordon university where the pioneering MSc degree was being run- from 29 who started all but a handful dropped out as they didn’t “get” the need for research and academic backfground
