In reply to Gareth Jones.

Yes indeed, and thanks for the fine ad hominem opening sentence Gareth... :-)

I am utterly biased of course, but I think evidence base and demonstrating an understanding of how we measure therapeutic efficacy should be included in all hypnotherapy training. And as you know, it is included in my own trainings.

And yes, reflective practice is something all hypnotherapists should have a system of in their working practice.

Nice one.

especially in terms of measuring the efficacy of specific therapies?

I could see how this might be difficult to do or accept given all the variables but is that a reason not to?

I would suggest the best we can hope is that everyone applies reflective practice to their work and to always ask the question why a particular intervention did not succeed and to not just assume why.

Then again I would say this as I'm an Everton fan.

Exactly what I would expect from a ginger nut..... :-p

I agree with your blog Adam although things would be easier if people understood how to study the evidence (even just if it means reading Bad Science). Not many things in this world are triple blind yet!
Should the evidence of hypnotherapy be part of ALL hypnotherapy courses?
