My sister’s laptop went “mental” just after Christmas and she’d only had it for just over a year. And it was a top of the range £1000 machine. Computers do amazing things and the advent of the Internet has made them more important than ever. But they work on blind logic. If they’ve got it into their heads that a red piece of card is actually blue then you won’t stop them from believing that or acting as if that’s true.

My housemate at uni had a PC problem and he had to reinstall lots of stuff. The PC asked him if he wanted his file allocation tables aligned. He said no. And that was the end of the computer. You see, the PC will allow you to chose an option that will kill it. That’s how mad they are.
